If you’re searching for new home appliances, try a relaxing, hands-on approach guided by seasoned professionals offering expert advice—and an entirely new way to shop.
With so many new styles and features, selecting appliances can seem a little overwhelming. Owners Mike and Brantley King of Billy Wood Appliance knew there had to be a better way to choose the right appliances rather than picking them from a “line up” on essentially a warehouse floor.
To help homeowners, BWA’s Hilton Head showroom was remodeled as a collection of kitchen vignettes—each feeling like a home with custom cabinetry, granite or quartz countertops, tile backsplashes, task lighting and live, functioning appliances.
This approach transforms the appliance selection process by allowing visitors to relax, enjoy, explore and perfectly match their needs, lifestyle and tastes with quality appliances from more than 50 leading manufacturers.
The experience has been so well received by visitors, homeowners, builders and designers that it has become the foundation for their Bluffton showroom opening in 2018.
“The spacious Bluffton showroom offers a series of dynamic displays and vignettes—each appointed with operational appliances, exceptional lighting, beautiful floors and high-end finishes,” said James Atkins, partner at Court Atkins Architects. “The relaxed, at-home feeling encourages visitors to interact with the appliances, explore catalogs and discuss options,” said Atkins. Importantly, the showroom was designed to help visitors select appliances of the ideal size, capabilities, style and budget for their home.
Experiencing appliances first-hand can have a dramatic impact upon the importance of features to you. For example, seeing an electric induction cooktop boil water in less than 60 seconds might lessen the desire to install gas lines and tanks. Similarly, the convenience of internet-connected appliances may also reveal their true value to you once experienced first-hand.
“Even though appliances are designed to standard sizes, each has their own sense of style, presence, proportion and capabilities that cannot be understood in a long row of similar products. Each must be experienced in the context of a kitchen or area where they will be used,” said Brantley King, co-owner of BWA.
Highlighting the value of a first-hand experience, the Bluffton showroom also includes a dramatic chef’s kitchen by Sub-Zero and Wolf. This fully functional kitchen supports customer training, cooking classes and even a venue for homebuilders and designers to educate and entertain their clients.
Whether you’re building a new home, renovating or replacing an appliance, the new Bluffton showroom provides a unique immersion experience. Visitors can quickly identify the right appliances for their home and be delighted with their choices for years to come.
After confidently selecting your new appliances, they will be expertly installed by our factory trained team ensuring they are ready for years of worry-free cooking, cooling and cleaning.
