Our builder, Doug Durrant, is a seasoned homebuilder with more than 30 years of experience in Florida and South Carolina.

His love of homebuilding began as a young boy, helping his grandfather, who was a builder himself. He loved the excitement of dreaming up a home on paper that would eventually become a place where families would come together and make lifetime memories.

Doug built his first home in high school alongside fellow seniors under the mentorship of a local builder. The youth spent their afternoon school hours working with contractors. A lucky family was awarded this brand-new home. This experience filled Doug with a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction, inspiring him to pursue further education in the residential homebuilding field.

Doug attended BYU and paid for college by working in the trades in the summers and on the weekends. He received his degree in Construction Management with high marks. After college, he moved to Florida and enjoyed a 20-year experience building homes from Viera to Vero Beach and helped thousands of families enjoy homeownership.

In 2013, Doug and his wife Deb decided to move to the Lowcountry and start building homes in this area. They joined forces with AR Homes, which offers incredible support for small local builders.

With an in-house architectural team at their fingertips, they can start with a white sheet of paper or use one of AR Home’s model plans as a starting point to design the home of their client’s dreams.

And, because they are a “Fixed-Fee” builder, their clients will enjoy no surprises. Just transparent and straightforward estimates that are updated accurately and rapidly to give their clients peace of mind.
